Our client, a reputable commercial bank, is seeking a results-driven and dynamic Business Development Manager to drive growth and build long-term value through customer acquisition, product penetration, and strategic partnerships. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, expanding market presence, and deepening customer relationships across retail, SME, and/or corporate segments.
Market Expansion: Identify and develop new business opportunities to grow the bank’s customer base and market share.
Client Acquisition: Source and onboard new clients across various segments (individual, SME, corporate), aligning with the bank’s strategic goals.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to promote retention and cross-selling of banking products and services.
Sales Targets: Achieve set business development targets, including deposit mobilization, loan disbursements, and fee-based income.
Product Promotion: Promote and explain the bank’s products and services, ensuring clients receive tailored financial solutions.
Market Intelligence: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of trends and recommend adjustments to strategy.
Proposal Development: Prepare high-quality proposals and presentations for potential clients and partners.
Collaboration: Work closely with branch managers, product teams, and marketing to support campaigns and the rollout of new offerings.
Customer Service: Ensure a superior customer experience through prompt responses, problem resolution, and consistent follow-up.
Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on business development activities, pipeline progress, and achieved results.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification is an added advantage.
Experience: 3–7 years of experience in business development or relationship management within the banking or financial services sector.
Banking Knowledge: Sound understanding of banking products (loans, deposits, trade finance, digital banking, etc.).
Sales Skills: Proven track record in meeting or exceeding business development and sales targets.
Networking: Strong professional network and ability to build relationships with key decision-makers in the market.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare compelling presentations and proposals.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify client needs and propose relevant solutions effectively.
Customer Centricity: Passionate about delivering exceptional client service and developing long-term relationships.
Experience working in retail, SME, or corporate banking segments.
Familiarity with CRM systems and digital banking platforms.
Fluency in English and Swahili.
