Job Tittle – Head of SMEs & Retail Banking

Reporting To – Managing Director

Industry – Banking

JOB PURPOSE 

To drive the development of the Bank’s SME & Retail Banking, Personal Lending, Digital Financial Service and Branches and lead the execution of the same across the Bank’s chosen markets

SUMMARY OF THE KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Lead the development and execution of the Bank’s SME & Retail Banking Strategy in order to grow customer accounts
Develop SME and Micro Lending Policy for the bank
Supervising all branches (SME & Retail, Personal Lending and Digital Financial Service)of the Bank
Ensure effective deliverance of quality Digital Financial Service product to customers and at the same time maintain and sustain Consumer banking services for business endeavor
Identify the highest and lowest risk market segments for the various Bank products
Maintain a high level of service through Quality Assurance and Control
Offer advisory services to Customers and Branch Managers
Oversee branches in recovery of SME & Retail clients
Lead the development and execution of the Bank’s Sales and Marketing Strategy in order to raise awareness of the Bank’s products and to keep abreast of competition’s new products and services thus improving in service delivery and product range
Coach, Mentor and Develop a team of professionals in order that they are equipped with the necessary skills for efficient service delivery
Contribute strategically to the development and implementation of the Bank’s vision, mission, and values.

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED AND ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

(Knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience required for a satisfactory job performance)

A: Required Qualifications

A 1st university degree in either Commerce, Finance or Marketing
A post-graduate degree in either Commerce, Finance or Marketing or its equivalent a must /mandatory

B: Required Experience:

5-7 years of experience in a Financial Institution or in an FMCG of which three should have been at a Senior Managerial Level

C: Required knowledge and skills

Extensive training in Banking and a good understanding of Banking Products
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent selling and networking skills
Leadership Managerial experience with proven ability to lead a big team and interact effectively at all levels
High level of innovativeness and creativity
