Purpose: This is a unique opportunity to work with a well renowned company who is looking to expand its portfolio and grow a multichannel platform to design, develop and distribute a wide range of cosmetic products across East and Central Africa.

 

 

Summary: The individual will be required to spearhead the development and execution of the region’s business model and will be involved with all daily activities including defining strategic choices to gain market share in active territories. The employee will be required to produce daily reports and will be responsible to lead a competent team to ensure all set targets are met.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Inititate, develop, implement and manage daily manufacturing processes with a go-to-market strategy centered around brand development.
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify key opportunities and understand changes in consumer patterns, market direction and general tastes and preferences.
  • Drive strong collaborative relationships and joint business plans with commercial partners and develop direct sales with a route to market centered around sustainable growth.
  • Design, develop and execute sales and marketing initiatives through cost effective brand building strategies.
  • Raise brand awareness and deliver consumer loyalty and ultimately market share.
  • Establish and ensure that effective team business management systems, processes & procedures are in place to enable a high performing team, and that these are executed consistently.
  • Contribute technically and to be involved in daily operational and manufacturing processes to ensure cost effective and quality conscious outputs are achieved.
  • Spearhead the brands architecture and develop various guidelines on the brands market exposure.
  • Ensure all sales, marketing and education initiatives are coherent with the brands DNA and positioning.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and clients to get the right toolboxes to win in the region. This encompasses product, initiatives, 360° multichannel assets, pricing, promotion, trade tools, education/artistry and VM.
  • Design and execute daily operations on outlined budgets and initiate various internal operating procedures to ensure efficiency, quality and optimum return on investment.
  • Proactively and effectively manage the risk factors inherent in the business.
  • Accountable for timely and detailed reports on all departments of the internal business process.

·       Responsible for the achievement of operational and financial results – both top (revenue) and bottom (profitability) lines carrying overall P&L .

  • Spearhead R&D and ensure both new and existing products comply with all regulatory requirements in active and potential territories of interest.
  • Overlook all process of the business operations.

 

Key Requirements:

·      An MBA in Business / Marketing and related disciplines

·      15-20 years of relevant working experiences within the Beauty FMCG (cosmetics, haircare and skin care) industry.

·      Preferably with a track record of developing new overseas markets with sound ability to build up a brand from scratch.

·      Strong business acumen.

·      Mature, proactive with a hands-on approach and strong interpersonal skills.

·      Excellent leadership, negotiation and problem solving skills.

·      Experience with sound knowledge in cosmetic, skin care, haircare is essential.
